Ghost of Tsushima is the game of the year according to Japanese developers

Ghost of Tsushima won several statuettes at The Game Awards 2020, but did not become Game of the Year. However, the Japanese, who understand games well, consider it more worthy of the high title.

Famitsu conducted its traditional annual survey among Japanese developers and celebrities. 132 people voted for Ghost of Tsushima as Game of the Year. Competitors of the PS4 exclusive included Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin, and Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout.

The Famitsu award is a great honor for Sucker Punch Productions, an American studio that paid close attention to details that proved important to the Japanese.

Last year, the same award went to Death Stranding, and in 2018, Marvel's Spider-Man won.
