Dragon Quest Tact will arrive on smartphones in January

Square Enix is launching the tactical mobile game Dragon Quest Tact, set in the popular universe.

Square Enix is launching the Western version of Dragon Quest Tact on January 27 on iOS and Android. For now, gamers can pre-register on the AppStore or Google Play. The test version, released last summer in Japan, was installed by 10 million users. The project is set in the game universe of the Dragon Quest series, Square Enix’s second most popular franchise after Final Fantasy.

In Dragon Quest Tact, players will have to form a team, level up fighters, and battle monsters in tactical combats. Square Enix describes the combat system as “simple, yet deep”. Characters familiar to gamers from other franchise installments are available for recruitment. You can take a look at the gameplay in the official trailer from the publisher’s Japanese YouTube channel.
