The creators of Warhammer 40000: Darktide explained why the game will initially appear only on PC and Xbox Series X|S

“We have been cooperating with Microsoft for many years, and they are a great partner,” said the developer

The cooperative action game Warhammer 40000: Darktide from Fatshark will only be available on PC and Xbox Series X|S at launch. The game’s technical producer Mikael Hansson commented on the studio’s decision and noted that releasing a game on multiple platforms at once is not easy.

“We have been working with Microsoft for many years, and they are a great partner. We are very happy to work with Microsoft on Vermintide 2, and are using that as a foundation to build exciting things in the future. It is no secret that releasing games simultaneously across multiple platforms takes quite a lot of time. We want to ensure a simultaneous release of the game on PC and Xbox consoles,” Hansson said.

There is no exact release date for Warhammer 40000: Darktide yet.

Fatshark’s previous project (Warhammer: Vermintide 2) initially appeared only on PC, then was released on Xbox One, and only after that reached PS4.
