A dream team in FIFA 21 costs an absurd amount of money

Streamer ScudzTV calculated how much money or time is needed to build a top-tier squad in FIFA Ultimate Team. This is a mode where players collect footballer cards by playing matches or buying packs for real money.

His team consists only of the most valuable and effective Icon cards in Ultimate Team. Its value is estimated at 100 million FIFA in-game coins.

In order to earn 100 million coins, he would need to play 66,666 matches, assuming he gets 1,500 coins for each. To maximize profit, each match would have to last 20 minutes, which amounts to a total of 22,000 hours of gameplay or 916 days without a break.

Another way to get players is to monitor the transfer market.

“Assuming I earn 10,000 coins per transaction, I need to complete 10,000 trades. If I get 10,000 coins this way every 10 minutes, I would have to spend 1,650 hours or 69 days on the transfer market without a break.”

The easiest way to get new cards is to use microtransactions. And here the streamer has bad news.

“If I get an average of 100,000 coins per 12,000 FIFA Points, I need to buy 1,000 packs of 12,000 FIFA Points. At a price of 111 dollars, I would have to spend 111 thousand dollars.”

The streamer addressed Electronic Arts:

“You have to understand that the options you provide to the community do not allow everyone to get what they want through reasonable methods.”
