New game from Destiny 2 developers will arrive in 2025

In an interview with the Japanese portal 4gamer, Bungie creative director Jacob Benton answered questions concerning not only the future of the Destiny series, but also plans for a new game.

He did not disclose any details, but confirmed that the results of their work will be visible in 2025.

Benton’s words align with previous statements. A year and a half ago, Bungie CEO Pete Parsons announced that this should happen by the end of 2025, when at least one game unrelated to the Destiny universe will be released. As a reminder, since June 2020, the company has been looking for developers to work on a new online fantasy project.

As for Destiny 2, the popular looter shooter will receive three more expansions. The premiere of the first, “The Witch Queen”, will take place in early 2022. The second, under the working title Lightfall, will be released in 2023, while the third is scheduled for 2024 and will be a conclusion to the Light and Darkness saga (which began in the first Destiny). Benton announced that the epilogue will not be the end of Destiny 2, because the creators have ideas for further development of the story.
