HD textures have finally been released for NieR: Automata by an enthusiast

While Square Enix promises that the Steam version of NieR: Automata will get a patch originally developed for the Game Pass release, an enthusiast took matters into his own hands.

“NieR Automata - Texture Pack V1.0” has been released on the Nexus Mods portal. It is an HD texture pack for the action RPG NieR: Automata, released in 2017.

The goal of the creator known as GPUnity was to preserve the original artistic vision of the project. Many low-quality textures could be found in the original version of the game.

The author claims that while creating the updated textures, he had to process around 300 of them. He also paid attention to the textures of the main heroine — the android 2B.

In mid-April this year, Square Enix announced that  a patch for the Steam version of NieR Automata is in development. It is intended to fix bugs that players have been reporting since the title's launch in 2017. The recently released NieR Replicant remake overtook NieR Automata in concurrent Steam players. Its review can be watched on the iXBT.GAMES channel.
