God of War: Ragnarok takes a cue from The Last of Us 2? The developers were inspired by Ellie's adventures

Last year, Sony surprised fans with a teaser for God of War: Ragnarok, but there has been no additional information about the game since then. The release was postponed several months ago, and we will have to wait for official moves from Sony.

The creators are reluctant to comment on the project, but Samuel Matthews, who was a guest on a God of War podcast, shared a few details. 

The concept artist, who collaborates with Santa Monica Studio, confirmed that the developers of God of War (2018) were inspired by The Last of Us. He also said that The Last of Us 2 had an impact on Ragnarok. Matthews hinted that the team might decide to do something similar to Naughty Dog’s approach with Ellie and Abby, where the player controlled characters with opposing viewpoints. It is possible that this refers to Atreus, which would be an interesting touch.
