PUBG will get an updated desert map and two new locations

The PUBG developers revealed development plans for the game through the end of the year. Three maps are mentioned—two new ones and an updated version of the Miramar desert.

The latter has already undergone minor changes, but update 12.1 will refresh the lighting, smoothness, texture quality, and topography. The developers explain:

“Expect major updates to terrain, textures, and building layouts, easier navigation through the removal of unnecessary obstacles, and even updated cliff faces that better fit the vertical gameplay we are focusing more on now.”

The two new maps are currently just concept art and codenames: Tiger and Kiki. The first will be smaller in size and designed for 8v8 matches. An important change will be the ability to return to battle after an initial defeat.

Kiki will also accommodate up to sixteen players, but it will feature diverse locations: from mysterious underground labs to towering skyscrapers, swamps, subway tunnels, and submerged buildings.
