Journalists lied — Far Cry 6 will not be free of politics

Earlier, reports emerged online claiming that the game would not be “politicized”. Ubisoft has issued a refutation.

When Navid Khavari shared details about the project, he did not avoid the question of politics in the game.

As a reminder, Far Cry 6 is set in Yara. It is a fictional tropical country. Khavari's words were twisted. Some came to the conclusion that the game would avoid politics because the French company wants to remain neutral.

In reality, the decision to create Yara was made to avoid comparisons, for example, with the real-world Cuba. And only for that reason.

Journalists misled the community. Ubisoft had to issue an official rebuttal.

Khavari clarified that the game will explore complex themes. For example, the rise of fascism, imperialism, slavery, the need for an electoral system, and it will not avoid LGBTQ+. He reminded that everything will take place in the fictional Yara.

Far Cry 6 is scheduled for release on October 7 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC.
