The Borderlands movie will not be completely tied to the game. A teaser featuring Cate Blanchett as Lilith has appeared

Lionsgate and Gearbox Software will soon reveal the full cast of the movie based on the Borderlands game series.

To start with, actress Jamie Lee Curtis posted a photo on Twitter of Lilith, who will be played by Cate Blanchett. This is just a teaser, but it is easy to see that the actress will get the signature hairstyle and outfit.

Gearbox head Randy Pitchford also commented on a fan’s post and confirmed that the project will feature well-known characters, but the film is “independent of canon.”

One can safely assume that although we will see familiar Borderlands characters in a familiar universe, the writers will tell a new story not connected to Gearbox Software’s products.
