Dolphin Quest is being developed by the Ecco The Dolphin team. The game was shown at Intellivision E3 2021

In 1992, the first game in the Ecco The Dolphin series was released on the Sega Mega Drive console. It is a marine-themed adventure where the player controls a dolphin.

The game achieved cult status, received four sequels, and is clearly remembered by many players. 

In a brief Intellivision presentation at E3 2021, it was announced that buyers of the Intellivision Amico console will gain access to another version of the game under a different title – Dolphin Quest. A gameplay snippet was shown in the video at 7:29. Interestingly, the original Ecco The Dolphin development team is working on the project.

Intellivision Amico – a reimagining of the late-70s console that will receive a host of exclusives. Undoubtedly, these are niche games. The creation of the device is led by Tommy Tallarico, a veteran developer and composer. It is scheduled for release before the end of 2021.

As a reminder, the console creators also promised a new game in another popular Sega Mega Drive series, Earthworm Jim.
