We already wrote about how, with the new firmware version, the next-gen PlayStation 5 console received a number of useful features and activated the slots on the board for M.2 SSDs.
PS5 architect Mark Cerny told Twitter users which SSD he chose.
Recently, manufacturer Western Digital announced that the “WD_BLACK SN850” SSDs are compatible with the PS5.
It was a photo of this particular drive that Cerny posted.
He also liked a post about the “FireCuda 530” made by Seagate.
However, installing a drive in the PlayStation 5 is not that simple. You will need a screwdriver and some DIY skills. Xbox Series X owners simply have to insert an expansion card into the port on the back of the console.
