Recently, the developers announced the short film “Exodus”, which will showcase the backstory of Battlefield 2042. At the same time, they announced that prior to the film's premiere, they would release “field reports” about the game's maps.
The first entry in the “Journey of the No-Pats” series is dedicated to the city of Doha (the capital of Qatar). The report is hosted by (fictional) journalist Kayvan Behir, for whom this city is his hometown. He joined the armed faction “No-Pats” and will be reporting on the locations.
In the 2030s, Qatar flourished due to high oil prices. However, the struggle against the encroaching desert was unsuccessful. The oil ran out, famine began, and protests erupted.
Military police operate in the city, searching for those who might be aiding the “No-Pats”. Kayvan himself falls under suspicion because of his browsing history and is forced to flee.
In an advertisement on LED displays, he notices an encrypted “No-Pats” emblem and finds a way into the catacombs. There, he is met by Pyotr Guskovsky, who will be playable in Battlefield 2042.
The release of the game is scheduled for October 22. It will be available on PS4|5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
