On Twitter, user Ralph shared information about what players might expect in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. It should be noted that according to well-known insider Tom Henderson, the game will be titled CoD MW II (not “2”).
- The game's events are expected to focus around the fight against Colombian drug cartels, and “there are no winners in this story.”
- The game may feature a “moral compass” influenced by decisions made by the player. It is being compared to the system in Red Dead Redemption 2. Supposedly, this will have a major impact on the campaign.
- Reportedly, there will be realistic bleeding, and enemies will attempt to “put pressure on their wounds in an effort to stop the bleeding.”
- Depending on bullet caliber, combatants may lose limbs, often remaining conscious, writhing and screaming.
- “During moments of high intensity, your character will react accordingly,” i.e., if the protagonist is ambushed, their hands will shake and they will struggle to insert the magazine (reload the weapon).
- A jamming animation will be introduced, along with the ability to recover (likely pick up) rounds that the player wasted due to a jam (clearing the bolt).
Presumably, the new Call of Duty is codenamed Project Cortez and will be titled Call of Duty Modern Warfare II (not “2”). In the campaign, US special forces will wage a covert war against Colombian drug cartels, with a release expected in late 2022.
