It seems that Blizzard will add the popular “Battle Pass” to Overwatch 2. At any rate, a hint of this was discovered in the game’s concept art.
A former Overwatch 2 designer published it, which caught the attention of journalists. Jayson Kirby worked at the company between 2017 and 2020.
Currently, the developers of Overwatch 2 have not shared detailed information regarding the product’s monetization system, or whether battle passes or subscriptions will appear.
Since an early-fidelity concept was shown, it cannot be ruled out that this approach to monetization was abandoned in the current Overwatch 2. Nevertheless, this system has taken root in many products.
