During this time, the developers at Undead Labs have released several major expansions for the action zombie-survival game:
- June 2019 – Heartland story expansion
- March 2020 – Juggernaut Edition
- September 2021 – Homecoming: A Return to Trumbull Valley update with a new map and a host of new features
In total, since the release in May 2018, 30 updates and DLCs have been released for State of Decay 2. Over this period, the player count reached at least 10 million, wiping out 4.6 billion zombies and 1.8 billion juggernauts.
Currently, the developers are working on the third installment, but no substantial information has surfaced since the announcement in July 2020.
