“Not a whale, but a researcher” Diablo Immortal streamer blew $16,000 to get a single legendary gem and uninstalled the game
Translated with AI from the Russian original.
Free-to-play Diablo Immortal offers plenty of room for microtransactions. Sometimes the “micro” significantly increases, as a streamer-researcher discovered firsthand
Streamer Quin69 achieved certain success in his peculiar scientific research. He was studying the monetization system. To do this, he obviously had to invest in the game.
The initial investments turned out not to be very successful. He spent around 4 thousand dollars, but didn’t get the coveted item — a legendary gem. Nevertheless, the streamer-researcher decided not to give up.
Quin69’s total expenses on Diablo Immortal, which finally allowed him to get one legendary gem, were equivalent to roughly 16 thousand US dollars.
After completing his research, he deleted his character and the Diablo Immortal client during the live stream (3:43:00).
