Sony’s easy money. PlayStation hits receive a massive surge in popularity after releasing on PC

Last week, the NPD Group shared strong sales figures for Spider-Man Remastered on PC. The game returned to the podium of best-selling games in the US.

Journalist Stephen Totilo described an interesting correlation – every Sony game released on PC after a certain period of time boasted strong sales. For instance, Days Gone, previously ranked 247th, climbed to 20th place thanks to its PC release. God of War came close to the podium (jumping from 146th to 5th place), and Horizon Zero Dawn nearly entered the top ten best-selling games (moving from 89th to 12th place).

Whenever PlayStation Studios releases games on PC, they become extremely popular. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that Sony will make more game ports and systematically expand its library for a new audience. Over time, the results could be even better.

In October, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection will be released on PC, and Spider-Man: Miles Morales will arrive on Steam and the Epic Games Store this fall. Sony also confirmed that The Last of Us Part I will soon hit the new platform as well.
