DOOM was successfully run in “Notepad” at 60 FPS. Gameplay recording in a text editor published

Enthusiasts continue to run experiments on launching the classic shooter DOOM in the most unexpected places

DOOM was once again played in an unusual place. This time, Notepad became the venue for running DOOM.

The developer used a text editor familiar to many Windows users. It turned out playable at a decent frame rate.

According to SamNChiet, DOOM runs at 60 FPS. As claimed, the footage was not sped up, and no modifications were used — it is ordinary Notepad.

SamNChiet did not share the details of the technical implementation, but promised to release a playable version of Notepad DOOM.
