Cyberpunk: Edgerunners creators have no plans for a second season

The producer of the series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners confirmed that there were never any plans to create a second season of the show. However, he is pleased with the anime's success, so he does not rule out the possibility of working on a sequel.

CD Projekt Red’s Japan representative, Satoru Honma, admitted that the studio is not working on a continuation. From the very start, the show was intended to be a standalone work within the game’s universe.

“To be clear, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was planned as a standalone project, so there is no question of working on a second season. Even if we were to produce more anime in the future, it is unknown whether it would be a second season or something completely different.”

The creators are pleased with the series’ positive reception, so they have not ruled out the possibility of working on a potential sequel or a new story within the universe. Honma admitted that he would be glad to continue collaborating with Studio Trigger.

“Personally, I would like to continue collaborating with the Japanese studio to produce more anime in the future. Mainly because of the warm audience reception and the success of the series.”
