The creators of The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria revealed new footage and shared details about dwarven survival

The Free Range Games team revealed details about The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, which was first announced in June.

In this co-op survival game, players will explore an underground kingdom devastated by the awakened Balrog. Players will lead an expedition of dwarves seeking to reclaim the lost lands of their once-mighty realm.

The corridors, mines, and open spaces of the ruined dwarven realm are infested with goblins, orcs, and trolls. Crafting will play a crucial role here. Mined raw materials, such as gold and silver, can be used to forge increasingly advanced tools. Base building will also be an essential gameplay element.

Most environments in The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria are procedurally generated with a high degree of randomness. However, certain story-critical locations have been handcrafted. The game can be played in co-op mode in groups of up to eight players.

The developers plan to complete the game in 2023. The launch will take place on the Epic Games Store.
