Will The Witcher remake be an open-world product on UE5? Questions arise over CD Projekt's presentation

CD Projekt announced multiple products with codenames and is gradually explaining what they are. Questions only continue to grow

It was recently revealed that one of CD Projekt’s announced products turned out to be a remake of the first The Witcher. It will be built on the modern Unreal Engine 5.

Earlier, CD Projekt made several announcements. Nothing specific was said, outlining only a couple of features and codenames.

When announcing the remake of The Witcher on Unreal Engine 5, CD Projekt representatives clarified that it was Project Canis Majoris. This project had previously appeared in the presentation.

If CD Projekt indicated everything correctly, then a full-fledged remake of The Witcher with a new world format is expected. The slide mentions an open world, whereas The Witcher previously consisted of separate locations.

However, for some reason, an open world is not mentioned in the announcement. Fans are currently puzzled, as the format of the remake remains unknown: an open world or a set of remade locations.
