Recently, we wrote about several incidents with modern graphics cards. GeForce RTX 4090s melted power cables and connectors during gaming.
Information has surfaced about new incidents with the GeForce RTX 4090. As of now, there are already five such cases. The issue affects not only NVIDIA cards, but also partner products.
The details of what happened vary slightly. For instance, in one case smoke served as the warning sign, while in another — the screen went black and the cooling system started running at full blast. In other instances, there were no warning signs at all, and the damage was discovered almost by accident when a user decided to install a new CPU and noticed the state of the connector.
It is reported that NVIDIA representatives are reaching out to the affected GeForce RTX 4090 owners to investigate what is happening.
