Journalist: “Does the Xbox Series S really have a negative impact on the current generation of games?”
Tom Gop: “No, why should it have a negative impact? Microsoft doesn’t force us to make games for Xbox Series X with the same settings as for Series S. So no, as developers, we are not restricted.”
The lead producer of Evil West explained that the game will not receive a 60 FPS mode on Xbox Series S because the developers cannot guarantee a stable frame rate.
“We tried everything, but on Xbox Series S we cannot guarantee 60 frames per second 100% of the time. Sometimes the animation dropped below that level, and I think in such a situation it’s better to use a stable 30 frames per second.”
On Xbox Series S, just like on PS4, it will offer 1080p at 30 frames per second. It is emphasized that the game will not feature dynamic resolution scaling.
Evil West will be released on November 22, 2022, on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
