Users drew attention to a recent Blizzard statement addressed to players from South Korea. Blizzard has decided to lower the price of Diablo 4.
The price change affects the standard edition of Diablo 4, and those who pre-ordered the game are receiving refunds. Diablo 4 now costs not 95,900 won (~$78), but only 84,500 won (~$69).
Blizzard stated that the price change was made because they listened to feedback from South Korean players. However, there is also an alternative view regarding the reasons behind the pricing policy shift in South Korea.
The Asian region, particularly South Korea, which gave the world the legendary Lineage 2 and Undecember, is famous for its love of “grindfests”. It is believed that the price reduction for the basic version of Diablo 4 is related to the fact that dedicated fans have already purchased the premium editions of the game, while “regular buyers” picking up the standard edition are still few in number.
