“As previously mentioned by Jeff Grubb, Sony is planning to announce the ‘second phase of PS5’, which refers to its gaming plans. Ironically, this ‘second phase’ is largely related to Sony's hardware offerings — a new PlayStation 5 with a disc drive, Project Nomad (wireless earbuds), Project Voyager (wireless headset), and Q Lite (handheld console) are due to be released very soon.”
Tom Henderson also mentioned the launch of the PlayStation 5 Pro. In his view, Sony wants to release the device onto the market in time for Christmas 2024.
If the report is confirmed, Sony has about a year to finalize the devices and begin mass production so that they hit the market in late 2024.
Henderson mentioned that the PlayStation Showcase event should be a major occasion.
