Jeff Ross wanted to create an entire series of games in the world of Days Gone, with each subsequent adventure improving upon the shortcomings of its predecessor. The developer believed that Sony would allow the team to realize their vision and present new stories in a world populated by bloodthirsty beasts.
However, the developer was not given such an opportunity. Apparently, Days Gone 2 had a schedule, and the game was supposed to come out in April 2023, exactly four years after the release of the original.
“I get a little bummed after presentations like this because they remind me that we could have released Days Gone 2 a month ago if we had just stuck to the recommendations.”
It is hard to say whether the team would have been able to accomplish everything that was intended, but the team had a plan. It is worth noting that yet another message from Jeff Ross did not change Sony’s plans.
