Recently we reported on how the Diablo 4 community was up in flames. The cause was a hardcore race whose winners would be immortalized.
The issue is that contestants need to reach level 100 in Hardcore Mode faster than anyone else. Various content creators had early access to the game, meaning there is an entire group of players who have already managed to familiarize themselves with the content. They could devise a leveling strategy using the knowledge they gained.
Diablo franchise boss Rod Fergusson saw no advantage in such early access, which sparked a wave of criticism. A couple of days later, Blizzard revised the race rules.
The Diablo 4 community was informed that individuals who played the pre-release review build in May will now not be eligible to take part in the competition.
