The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom continues to reign in Japan. Diablo 4 sales drop significantly

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will compete for the title of best game of 2023, which is obvious given the reviews from critics and players alike, and despite tough competition.

However, review scores are one thing, but developers care about sales figures. And in Japan, they are still impressive, as there has been no change in its position on the sales throne since launch.

Game sales in Japan (12.06 - 18.06):

  1. [NS] Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - 31,151 (total: 1,672,070)
  2. [NS] Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - 7,489 (total: 5,336,478)
  3. [NS] Minecraft - 5,753 (total: 3,165,440)
  4. [NS] Nintendo Switch Sports - 5,550 (total: 1,101,167)
  5. [PS5] Diablo IV - 4,902 (total: 29,277)
  6. [NS] Front Mission 1st: Remake - 4,891
  7. [PS5] Street Fighter 6 - 4,766 (total: 33,630)
  8. [NS] Pokemon Scarlet / Violet - 4,362 (total: 5,053,556)
  9. [NS] Splatoon 3 - 4,315 (total: 4,038,838)
  10. [NS] Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - 4,309 (total: 5,215,546)

As can be seen from the number of new releases (only one - Front Mission 1st: Remake) and performance results starting from second place and below, it wasn't the hottest week. For example, sales of Diablo 4, which had a successful launch last week across three positions on various platforms, are attracting far less player interest.
