The Realm Kast Mortal Kombat Online drew attention to the biography of Rain, one of the characters in the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1. It sheds light on who Shao Kahn is in the new game.
Biography excerpt: “...Rain’s skills caught the eye of General Shao, who forged his water magic into a magnificent weapon. Rain’s victories so impressed Empress Sindel that she named him Outworld’s High Mage”.
It turns out that in the world of Mortal Kombat 1: Shao Kahn is alive; he is a general (commanding the army); and he is not the ruler of Outworld — Empress Sindel is.
The release of Mortal Kombat 1 is expected on September 19. For now, fans have time to build theories about the plot.
