Chinese players break Genshin Impact and destroy objects, blocking progress. Dangerous exploit alarms Western players

Turbulence has struck Genshin Impact once again. Dedicated players appear to have discovered an unorthodox way to exploit game mechanics

Information about a new exploit has begun circulating in the Genshin Impact community. Certain Chinese hackers have learned how to delete objects, which could hinder character progression or story walkthroughs.

Apparently, a Genshin Impact game mechanic is being used for nefarious purposes. For some reason, the skill of playable character Kaveh allows removing a totem or another object. There is also a view that third-party software is being used after all, and it is not about the specific character.

It seems the deletion does not occur at the player client level, but at the “account” level: reinstalling Genshin Impact or switching the gaming device does not help, as the deleted object does not reappear.

Notably, the bug had been reported to Genshin Impact support, but the ticket was closed because the author was not believed. A video was published online to draw attention to the problem. The events are unfolding on the Chinese server, but now players on the global Genshin server are also wary of letting strangers into their sessions to avoid unwanted surprises.
