When Jim Ryan was asked about his plans regarding PlayStation's live-service games, he clarified that the giant does not expect all projects to be successful.
Creating live-service games carries a certain risk, but a few successful titles are enough to offset losses. He stated that PlayStation will not only invest in live-service games, but will continue to focus on its strengths.
These strengths, according to Jim Ryan, lie in narrative-driven games.
“We will continue to publish the games that have served us so well over the years. These graphically beautiful, narrative-rich games will be the bedrock of our business.”
Obviously, this strategy has brought PlayStation enormous success and satisfies fans. But first-party studio games will be complemented with PlayStation live-service games.
