A Starfield player going by the nickname Serbian-American noticed that fish spawn strangely on one of the planets. The thing is, they are literally doomed to die.
On Xi Ophiuchi VIII-B, there is a dead body of water (with a Corrosive effect): if you shoot a fish, its corpse will launch into the sky — this is attributed to the fact that massive damage is dealt.
It is no secret that procedural generation was used to create a significant portion of the content in Starfield. It seems that developers forgot to add a condition check to prevent life from appearing where it logically should not exist.
