Revolution: the creators of horror game Signalis solved a critical inventory issue a year later, fixed by modders in a couple of days

Signalis became an eye-opening game for many. Behind not the most impressive graphics lay an engaging adventure that was marred by a controversial creative decision

In late October 2022, Signalis was released on PC via Steam. The unusual horror game became a pleasant discovery for many, but one aspect caused dissatisfaction.

In Signalis, as in many survival horror games, an inventory limitation mechanic was used. Some people like managing it and figuring out what to bring along, but a noticeable portion of players in Signalis really disliked it.

A few days after the release, a mod with the telling name ExtraSlots was released for Signalis, providing 8 inventory slots on any difficulty. It quickly became the second most popular, trailing only the Camera Perspective Change Mod, which lets you view the game from a different camera angle. The Handy Flashlight Mod was also released, allowing players to turn on the flashlight even if it is not in the inventory (it used to take up a slot).

A year later, patch 1.2 was released for Signalis, addressing the inventory issue: now, by default, the flashlight and eidetic module do not take up inventory space (this can be changed), and players can also adjust the inventory size. The full list of changes can be viewed at the link.
