Blizzard decided to replace the first Overwatch with a new game. Overwatch 2 was supposed to have a full-fledged PvE mode, but it was ultimately scrapped, which only fueled the discontent.
Hunt Showdown has been around for many years. There are lingering concerns that at some point the developers might pull off something similar: replacing the current game with a hypothetical Hunt 2.
A Crytek representative spoke with the media and dismissed such speculation: “No, we don’t have plans for Hunt 2. We just plan to keep moving forward [developing Showdown]”.
He also noted that Crytek is open to developing new games in the Hunt universe, but they will not replace Showdown.
