He added that he has other stories as well.
“One of them is a big-budget, dark, gothic fantasy whose ideas haven’t been used for anything yet.”
The Finnish studio is known for its quirks and surrealism, but usually set in modern times or the near future. Fantasy and gothic would be a new approach.
Whether Lake will get an opportunity to bring such a concept to life is a separate question. Remedy currently has Control 2, Condor (a multiplayer game set in that universe), remakes of the first two Max Payne installments, as well as Vanguard (a new co-op shooter for the Chinese company Tencent) in development.
