The fourth major patch has been released for Baldur's Gate 3. Larian managed over 1,000 fixes and various improvements, Steam is not ready for such a character count.
As often happens, a minor detail ended up in the community’s spotlight: after several months, Baldur's Gate 3 introduced the ability to wash companions with soap and a sponge — no more blood, dirt, or foul odors.
Some other changes in Patch 4 for Baldur's Gate 3:
- NPCs will no longer shoot through walls and floors.
- The appearance of hirelings can be customized upon hiring.
- The Speak with Dead mechanic has been updated: you can now talk to a corpse again if you didn’t ask any questions the first time (for example, if a player tried talking to someone they killed and the corpse refused to chat).
- Minthara, Halsin, Shadowheart, and Lae'zel received new idle camp animations. Karlach was also made more lively.
- Improved controller handling
- Improved performance
- Added an option to change outline colors for hostile and friendly characters, etc. (designed for players with visual impairments).
