Blizzard continues to find itself embroiled in various PR scandals. This time, activists latched onto the “orc fatigue” mentioned by the creators of World of Warcraft.
The logic is simple: for some reason, Blizzard hasn’t grown tired of “whites” (the Alliance), but they have of “non-whites” (the orcs):
“Blizzard devs will never tell players they're "fatigued" of Alliance races or Alliance-centric themes (read: Western/Euro fantasy).
Devs have literally told us they're “fatigued” of Horde races and Horde themes (read: non-Western/non-white fantasy), specifically Orcs & Trolls.
Until either:
1) We get an apology for them saying this ****** [nonsense]
Or
2) They announce fatigue with Night Elves, Anduin, or something of that ilk,
we're at an impasse.
Because MY faction/race choice and MY heritage/culture used for worldbuilding is being treated as lesser compared to yours [Western/Euro-white]”.
