Japanese publication Famitsu selected the most anticipated game of 2024

It goes without saying that the Japanese have rather specific tastes. But when it comes to the category of the most anticipated games of 2024, they largely agree with the West.

As every year, the Famitsu team conducted a survey regarding the most anticipated products hitting the market over the next few months, or perhaps even years. This year's ranking revealed a trend in what the Japanese are eagerly waiting for and what their purchases will be aimed at in 2024.

According to the published ranking, the most anticipated game in Japan was the second part of the Final Fantasy VII remake, FF7 Rebirth, which is set to be released in a few months. Unsurprisingly, second place went to another Yakuza, also known as Like A Dragon with the subtitle Infinite Wealth. Third place on the podium belongs to the remake of the third Persona, whose portable edition escaped its PSP prison after many years. Further down the list are Tekken 8, Pragmata, Ushiro, Paper Mario RPG (also a remake), and Shiren the Wanderer 6, a spin-off of the Mystery Dungeon series that will also arrive in Europe in 2024.
