Forgotten Hope 2, a total conversion mod for Battlefield 2, will receive a major update with new mechanics, maps, vehicles, and weapons

So many years after its release, Battlefield 2 has not lost its relevance for some players. The DICE game continues to be supported by the community

The developers of the total conversion mod Forgotten Hope 2 for Battlefield 2 are preparing a major update. The 2.64 Compagnons release is scheduled for January 23, 2024.

Gradually showcasing the upcoming content, the team intends to add a couple of new maps to Forgotten Hope 2, Medjez El Bab and La Hardt, along with vehicles, weapons, and more.

They introduced a new mechanic for bolt-action weapons: previously, after firing, the bolt cycling animation would play, and the camera would switch back to hip-fire view during these moments.

Players have long requested the ability to aim down sights without the bolt cycling animation resetting the camera after every shot — this was problematic because players could not exit aim down sights until the animation finished, preventing them from quickly taking cover (movement speed is lower while aiming).
