Insider: new Deus Ex cancelled, Embracer Group shut down the project after two years of development

Embracer Group accumulated a huge number of assets, but then had to undergo optimization. It seems that a brand-new Deus Ex was hit

Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier continues to provide various insider reports. Now he has reported that Embracer Group decided to cancel the development of a game in a well-known franchise.

As it turned out, a new Deus Ex had been in development for a couple of years. Full development was supposed to begin later in 2024, but in the end, the project was cancelled and Embracer laid off some of the employees involved.

The game was being developed by the Eidos studio, which will now focus on a certain original franchise.

There was no official announcement of the new Deus Ex. Embracer and Eidos declined to provide comment to Bloomberg on the situation.
