Over the past few years, Microsoft has made massive investments in the gaming industry, notably acquiring ZeniMax and Activision Blizzard King. At the time, many believed Xbox would receive a wealth of new games exclusive to the company’s hardware. That turned out to be true. However, recent reports suggest titles like Hi-Fi Rush, Starfield, and Indiana Jones could be heading to PS5. Xbox fans are not hiding their frustration on Twitter.
Xbox President Sarah Bond posted an update regarding Halo Infinite, but fans reacted in an unexpected way — bringing up the rumors and demanding clarification:
Player comments under Sarah Bond’s post:
- “You can ignore them and ignore them... But they aren’t going away.”
- “Give me at least one good reason why I should buy an Xbox Series X instead of a PS5.”
- “Then what’s the point of owning an Xbox?”
- “It’s sad that you’re ignoring all Xbox fans.... I’ve been a fan since the 360 and I think Series X is my last Xbox…”
- “You betrayed us, Xbox fans.”
Some fans blame Microsoft not necessarily for bringing games to competing platforms, but because no one from the Xbox division has debunked the rumors flooding the internet. Others view these reports indifferently, arguing that more platforms mean more players can experience Xbox Game Studios titles. Xbox will remain an attractive option as long as Game Pass exists, allowing those who don't want to buy games to play them on day one.
