Hideo Kojima is working on several projects at once. The famous creator is busy not only with Death Stranding 2 On The Beach, which recently made waves at the PlayStation State of Play presentation, but also, for example, the mysterious OD.
A recent episode of HideoTube brought up OD. Hideo Kojima explained that before creating a horror project, people visit a shrine for the traditional Oharai ritual: it is a kind of purification ritual to ward off evil spirits (purification from “all things bad”).
A photo was shown featuring not only Hideo Kojima himself at the ceremony, but also a guest invited from the West — Xbox boss Phil Spencer sitting close to him. According to Kojima, they attended the ritual along with the Microsoft team.
He also spoke (likely in jest) about a certain sound heard in the studio. When they set up a recording overnight, this sound supposedly occurred roughly every hour, which is why Kojima thinks they ought to visit a more powerful sacred place and repeat the Oharai ritual.
