PlateUp! developers announce number of copies sold ahead of console release

PlateUp! is coming to consoles this week. Yogscast announced that the co-op cooking game has already sold 1.5 million copies on Steam.

This figure comes ahead of the launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5, and Xbox (available on Game Pass, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S).

Developed by It's Happening, the game originally launched in 2022 and has enjoyed widespread popularity ever since. Within a month, PlateUp! generated $1 million in revenue. In a press release, company creator Alastair Janse van Rensburg admitted to being both overwhelmed and grateful for the success.

He noted that bringing PlateUp! to consoles opens the game up to couch co-op enthusiasts, and that “a lot of good things” are in store for the project in the future.
