At the end of 2023, The Day Before was released. It was the most wishlisted game on Steam with an impressive advertising campaign, but Fntastic’s project turned out to be far from what users had imagined after watching the trailers.
The Day Before began receiving devastating reviews, the development studio Fntastic was quickly shut down, and the project’s servers were eventually taken offline. The game made quite a splash, and discussions can still be found online, with development specifics that came as a revelation to many post-release serving as an additional trigger (although alarming leaks had appeared even before it).
Recently, The Day Before was once again spotted on Steam, with August 2023 listed as the release date. The developer is allegedly “FNTASTIC”, and the publisher is “Mytona Fntastic”.
Users grew suspicious and began digging, turning to the SteamDB database. The game is titled “The Day Before”, but Valve also uses unique digital project IDs in the store.
When trying to look up “2548190” in the database, they discovered that the title, as well as publisher and developer information, were changed on February 15, 2024. On the same day, screenshots of the game and a new description were added.
This is clearly some scam developer; just recently this game was called “Grand Theft Auto: Brasil” and used different screenshots, meaning this is not the return of The Day Before that some fans might have hoped for.
