During the PlayStation State of Play presentation, users noticed that many third-party partner games were showcased, while Sony's internal studios barely made an appearance. It seems the PS5 will spend 2024 mostly with partner games.
However, 2025 could see the release of a host of notable projects. Users took note of a recent post by well-known insider Shinobi602.
Shinobi602 shared Sony's alleged plans for next year:
“*If* all the first-party games I know of come out [in 2025], it will be a very, very big year.
Of course, it goes without saying that in modern game development delays are always possible, etc.”.
Judging by Sony's financial report, the company does not plan to release sequel games to existing franchises on PlayStation 5 before April 2025.
For now, Sony PlayStation is delighting players with the recent release of Helldivers 2: the PlayStation 5 console exclusive launched simultaneously on PC on Steam, where it became a massive hit and quickly joined the list of some of the most popular games in the history of Valve's service (concurrent player count surpassed Starfield).
