The graphics card market is returning to normal. In Europe, RTX 40 Super prices are dropping below MSRP

Not so long ago, during the heyday of “cryptocurrency mining,” buying graphics cards at bargain prices was just a dream. Fortunately, the situation is changing.

Editors at PC Games Hardware and ComputerBase noticed that a clear drop in graphics card prices is now being observed not only in the US, but also in Europe. This also applies to the latest NVIDIA RTX 40 Super series cards. Prices for the new cards have fallen below the recommended retail price in Germany.

For instance, the RTX 4070 Super appeared on the German market priced at 659 euros, and is now selling for around 590 euros. The RTX 4070 Ti Super started at 889 euros, and its price has already dropped to 840 euros. The smallest price reduction was recorded for the RTX 4080 Super. The graphics processor launched at a price of 1109 euros, and now on the German market one will have to pay about 1092 euros for the card.

Such a trend can only be welcomed. Cheaper graphics cards have already fallen to an affordable level (in particular, the Intel Arc series and offerings from AMD), and all that remains is to wait for further price drops.

The main reason for this phenomenon is the end of the “cryptocurrency mining” craze. But a threat has loomed on the horizon in the form of the massive growth of the artificial intelligence sector. High-end graphics cards with a large amount of VRAM are used here, which is already having a certain impact on the market.
