Gamesradar journalists took notice of an overlooked record set by Baldur's Gate 3, which some users might have missed. As it turned out, Larian Studios' game set an example for the entire industry.
According to calculations, Baldur's Gate 3 became the first game in industry history to win “Game of the Year” awards (or their equivalent) across five major ceremonies: Golden Joysticks, BAFTA, Game Developers Choice, DICE Awards, and The Game Awards.
Previously, acclaimed titles such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, God of War, and Elden Ring came close to a similar result, but they claimed the top honors at only four ceremonies.
