According to an official post from Rare, signed by producer Joe Neate, more than 40 million players have registered in Sea of Thieves.
“It is phenomenal to talk about 40 million players across Xbox, Windows 10, and Steam, and of course, this would not have happened without our brilliant, positive, and welcoming community, which continues to surprise and impress us with its creativity and antics out on the waves.”
Neate says that the team also deserves credit for their efforts over the years, and noted that a new pirate community will soon arrive on PS5.
The developers suggested celebrating the occasion during the upcoming Gold & Glory Weekend, where players can earn boosted renown, gold, reputation, and everything else.
