The developers of Grand Theft Auto 5 offer a vast game world for players to explore on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles. However, enthusiasts from Superstar South claimed that they managed to run the game on the Nintendo Switch, where it was never released.
Members of Superstar South published a video demonstration of Grand Theft Auto 5 on the Switch on social media. As expected, one cannot talk about good performance in such conditions — yet this amateur port still works (which is also an accomplishment in itself). Work on the project has been underway since the end of last year.
There is a high probability that lawyers from Take-Two Interactive (the parent company of Rockstar Games) will simply “shut down” such a project if the enthusiasts go too far. The unofficial port of Grand Theft Auto 5 for Nintendo Switch uses leaked game code, meaning there is a clear copyright infringement.
Grand Theft Auto 5 is running on a regular Nintendo Switch, meaning the developers did not overclock it.
